這兩者外觀是幾乎一模一樣的。

Eucharis 在歐美園藝裡的身影 還不常見。 這植物冬天需要保持 10℃ 以上的條件才能越冬 在台灣 似乎適合這美麗的植物生長 家中有這身影的不在少數。 雖然是夏花球莖植物 但台灣往往春天一早 就見花朵綻放

亞馬遜百合 英文俗稱 Amazon Lily 多特別指 Eucharis × grandiflora 這是 Eucharis moorei (哥倫比亞) 和 Eucharis sanderi (厄瓜多) 的自然雜交 (DK 參考書另寫包括 E. amazonica) 注意的是: 種加詞雖然冠 grandiflora 英文也有翻譯為: Large-flowered Eucharis 大花亞馬遜百合; 但是 和 Eucharis amazonica 比較 他的花卻是較小

Eucharis 另一個有意思的地方: 他是孕 還是不孕? 這還要分 是否 自花受孕 ( self-compatible)?

Eucharis amazonica 查資料 寫'至少'部分不孕 ( at least partly sterile, 但園藝栽培的 不結有繁殖能力的種子 viable seeds have never been produced in cultivation) 而
Eucharis × grandiflora 寫不孕; 卻也有一貼文 ( 連結)厄瓜多 的 可以自花受孕; 而 祕魯的 需要別株花的花粉受孕 ( 這有意思敘述 是一轉貼文 並無說明出處)

所以您的是 Eucharis amazonica?還是 Eucharis × grandiflora?

撇開'受不受孕'之事實 關於 Eucharis 的一些事 似乎都指向這植物的姣好面。 屬名來自希臘文 eu, good, and charis, attraction 取其花 美麗迷人的意思。 這屬名 1853年 由 Planch. & Linden 共同發表。 Eucharis 花語也很美麗 說是: 迷人的少女

亞馬遜百合 雖然掛百合名 是 石蒜科 Amaryllidaceae的植物 ( APG III 分類系統)
