久不像還不久前探察新團新曲, Stagnant Pools 也許是我的人生最後一支有耐心時發覺的新名。 stagnant pool 直翻就是'一潭死水' 但人家是團名 還是新團, 翻『一潭止水』; 麻煩的是這裡加s.. 一潭止水出專輯了。 印第安納州的兄弟檔二人 一司鼓 另一位就十八般武藝全包嘍.. 帶有意在這時間點讓shoegaze重張旗鼓的樂風。

沒詳究他們和 felt 有無淵源.. The Smiths 和 felt, 這兩支八O年傑秀 說影響了什麼 可能都過頭 (.. 到今天 音樂作什麼已都不稀罕了。) 但那個年頭 他們都是成就自己音樂的佼佼者； 要誰說被他們影響 也不是說就算數.. 但好幾支團 都拿他們歌名組團

從 The Smiths 那拿名字來用的 最知名自然歸 Shakespears Sister, 不過史密斯從 Virginia Woolf 那拿來的典故, 在這團印刷付梓時疏漏e 而就s; Shakespears Sister 經典曲 Stay, 1992 年蟬連英國榜八周冠軍 是史上紀錄之一 也是女子組合的歷史紀錄。 另一個團 Pretty Girls Make Graves 是西雅圖後判客 已經玩完

幾乎每支提到被史密斯影響的樂團 都加上: 喔! 特別是音樂上的 Johnny Marr之但書, 如: Oasis 如此。 史密斯往往就這麼活生生被支解 ( 成敗盡 Morrissey)。 言稱被 felt 影響的樂團 最著名推 Belle & Sebastian, 這團也長壽多了。 拿 felt 歌名來組團, felt 還在的時候, 就有 St. Christopher 出現 Sarah Records。 但 felt在 The Pictorial Jackson Review這張份量微薄作品裡 歌名是 Christopher St

奇怪的 名字和這張微薄專輯裡的歌名同 同公司 Creation Records 有一支 Apple Boutique, 但發片時間比 felt 這張專輯早.. 而上述兩支團相比 felt, 都更不具知名度。 ( Apple Boutique 的 John Mohan 在 felt 告別樂壇 10年的專輯: Me and a Monkey on the Moon 負責主音吉他, 本身會玩樂器的 Lawrence 在這張只開口唱他寫的歌。)

22年後 並沒研究到 Stagnant Pools 和 felt 是否有緣.. stagnant pool 直譯就是'一潭死水', 但 felt 美美的, 在 The Splendour of Fear 專輯追求純音樂思想更是絕響, The Stagnant Pool 在此美譯『靜滯之潭』。 felt 團名人盡皆知取自 Television 經典 Marquee Moon 唱 Venus, 當動詞解。 日本譯名 毛氈, 名詞當毛料, 其實呼應出處有同工之妙。 22年前台灣翻 『情 感 樂 章』, 老闆拿這四字, 開始 情 感 樂 章 在 台 灣。

Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before 12", Smiths' non UK release. The record company had originally intended to release it in the UK but felt this would be inappropriate following the Hungerford massacre (the lyrics contain a reference to "mass murder"). So I Started Something I Couldn't Finish became the second of three UK singles from the band's last studio album Strangeways, Here We Come, rleased after they had announced their split.


In July 1987, Johnny Marr left The Smiths permanently because he thought an NME article entitled "Smiths to Split" was planted by Morrissey. It alleged that Morrissey disliked Marr working with other musicians, and that Marr and Morrissey's personal relationship had reached breaking point.

'Stop Me.. ' was originally supposed to be released as a single and a music video was filmed by Tim Broad, and opens with a picture of Oscar Wilde hanging on a brick wall, and features scenes of the group-iconic Salford Lads Club and surrounding areas being bicycled through.. w i k i
