Charlotte Sowerby ( 1820-1865), an English natural history illustrator, little is known of her other than she was the eldest daughter of the respected conchological artist George Brettingham Sowerby.

The bar's busier than it should be on a weekday afternoon as the door swings shut behind me, but I'm the only one wearing a suit. No-one seems to notice my entrance though, I suppose they must be used to mourners in the nearest pub to the crematorium. I don't think I could've coped with the wake, I had to make ...a quick exit to be alone with my memories, I was sick of hearing everyone else's. I buy a pint and sit down.

"See, the trouble with you is that you're top heavy", said the tailor as he measured me up. They don't get asked much for three-piece suits these days, so my choice was limited. I went for all-purpose black, or 'charcoal grey' as he called it. Looks black to me. This is the second time I've worn it, the first was a wedding and there's a christening next week so I might as well get my money's worth. Birth, love and death: the only reasons to get dressed up. I loosen my tie.

Halfway through my pint and a text message from John says he's waiting outside, sooner than I'd expected. I down what's left and step out into the bright afternoon and get in the car. I look up and see the pub's once brilliant copper roof has oxidized over the years and it's now a dull, pastel green. Everything's getting older.

繾綣夜的星空下，無數厚重夜的幕如玫瑰花瓣般，繁複將人包住。這黑的不明畫，任其浸漬於夜，兀自開放的花，狂肆地拓展著被圍困一切的黑玫瑰呀…

吶喊是否能微縮妙於精巧的脈動。Black Rose 出現樂壇以來，一直以極簡的音樂結構，呈現出漫遊的聽覺印象。結構遊走得如此小，但行走的空間卻是出奇的大！環遊當中的場域，應是個聽覺的軀殼吧… 每個人具體而微的心內宇宙。

夜美麗地接續靜謐的風和日麗，日夜混亂的卻是溢出邊際，達不到的範域；心內遼闊無際地因襲，坐井於掠影的天洞，一心想抓握質疑的問題。Black Rose 首張專輯發表於1990年，「Silent Tears」以自己語言-義大利文書寫，產生聽歌以外閱讀的奧秘。初期以叛黨形象面對世人，女主唱Mara披髮、皮衣、鏤空蕾絲，男樂手Erri光頭、別徽章外加文字塗鴉的背心，兩人妖嬈綜合清純的味道狀似親密，包裝在黑色的音樂裡，無日無夜的淚流，說不出口地沉痛。音樂精簡，以鍵琴編寫全程，帶出女生憂怨的聲線，沉痛的心在她優美的唱音下飄搖欲墜。

這摯愛的淚流乾了應有一點一滴蒸醞於雲的一絲一偶帶離開窒縛的這裡。1992年第二張專輯「The Room Inside」以多變化的音色綜合，處理出迷離般的心智漫遊意象。在這張風格獨特的作品，同時也是最知名的代表作裡，找來Gorden Sharp這位清秀的男聲合作顛覆的觸動。(Gorden Sharp是位樂壇奇葩，和不少樂團關係深厚。有名者如Cocteau Twins，也參與過This Mortal Coil首張專輯錄音。而他自己的band: Cindytalk口味則是十分叛逆味嘈雜。) 由此看來Black Rose樂團的分工明確，唱腔專由女聲Mara負責，而她並不像一般樂團的女性團員，多會職司keyboard為點綴；這陰柔、幻想化的工作交由男性團員Erri職掌。寫歌以冠名Black Rose兩人負責，但樂器的演奏，都是Erri一人的事。

1995年最新專輯「Into the Glass House」更強調了”no sample used”。除了一貫的古典大鍵琴之外，另外著重了絃樂樂理的編排。樂壇少見此般冷態自持的組合，簡約的器樂手法，卻帶來鋼琴曲目裡最黑暗的內裏，又不知為何地浪漫美麗。像來自Black Rose的出身：義大利Milan夜空下的悄悄話，像分散於世界的夜晚，每場都是同黑的私藏。這張他們迄今包裝最美觀的作品，冬日冷清的情景，刻意在殘破的窗櫺前冰封、支解而瓦碎。黑色灰暗的網絡繚繞無止盡的傷情與思緒。

在演奏曲”Raindrop”的翻騰後，其下一首首的曲式曲意一貫地冷清。”Into the glass house”原來在玻璃花房內的是睡遲的長夏，”Always returns”再把甦醒質疑為偽裝… “Day Dreams”就順理成章地做夢下去。

在夢醒前時間的分秒”The time has come”… “ We cannot bear the idea of not being loved by anyone special. In darkness of our dreams we can perfectly become aware of our inexorable fear and the compulsory loneliness in which we are about to go through. Strange, we don’t understand why we are crying. ” 後續”Osare Pensare’最窒悶的擊技：海闊天空的天涯海角”… and the heart, the heart dies. ”

在冬日的清晨，你幾點醒來？輾轉這些無際的夜色，連黎明也遺忘為何。當不再牽繫這些溫柔於心扉，已久的淚痕欲放馳飛梭，凌空，找尋出路。破此唇蕾重幕而出，光臨照進來，支解了這朵障之花。

Susan Boyle 脫穎而出的個人生平 首張專輯 I Dreamed a Dream, 對各國 2009 年末專輯榜 攻無不破, 挑出的主打歌 Wild Horses, 為 The Rolling Stones 1971 年 Sticky Fingers 專輯裡舊作。 2009 年剛受 '08 年經濟海嘯的煎熬, 任憑股市一路再從新低炒作回溫, 景氣的大環境如同地球這塊瘡痍的大體, 是走樣的。 任何時代的人活著, 隱忍的是毅力；同樣是這個網路遠景大好, 倒置現實裡體無完膚的時代。 Wild Horses 是首詮釋自由的歌作, 有人說它唱出 The Rolling Stones 主唱 Mick Jagger 棄 Marianne Faithfull 之聲, Mick 新歡 Jerry Hall 說這首是'最愛', Susan Boyle 語道這讓她難忘童年貧瘠, 如同她的出身。

林內 Linnaeus曾視 Agapanthus 為 Crinum香殊蘭屬 的一員 ( Crinum africanum L. 1753 ). 而他的學生/植物探險家 Carl Peter Thunberg ( 11 Nov. 1743- 8 Aug. 1828 ) 一度稱 Agapanthus praecox 為 Mauhlia linearis ( Mauhlia Dahl 1787 )
.

過去在稱呼 Agapanthus, 還有 Hyacinthus風信子屬 和 Tulbaghia紫嬌花屬 都曾適用在他身上. 後者在視 Agapanthus 為 Alliaceae蔥科 的分類上 亦是關係最近的植物. 更早之前 Agapanthus 則被視為 Liliaceae 百合科

但由於 Agapanthus 空心型花柱 無異味 視為實心型花柱的 蔥科 有商榷空間； Amaryllidaceae*石蒜科 雖符合空心型花柱 特徵 但子房下位 和子房上位的 Agapanthus 亦不相襯。 近來有如 Wim Snoeijer ( Agapanthus: a revision of the genus, 2004 一書的作者 ) 主張 視 Agapanthus 為 Agapanthaceae*愛情花科 的單獨屬。

1. 身為林內的學生/門徒 天蠍座的 Carl Peter Thunberg 遠赴南非採集植物的成就 為自己贏得「南非植物學之父」名號. 遠征日本 身為第一個踏上日本的西方學者 一年多的時間 完成史上第一本敘述日本植物的科學著作《Flora Japonica》此對日本植物分類的啟蒙 被稱為「日本的林奈」。

Thunbergia erecta/ 立鶴花, Thunbergia grandiflora/ 大鄧伯花, Thunbergia alata/ 黑眼蘇珊 的屬名 Thunbergia Retz. 1780 由晚 林內 一輩的 瑞典自然學家 Anders Jahan Retzius ( 3 Oct. 1742- 6 Oct. 1821 )創設 紀念這位同輩。

原生日本 九州南部與琉球群島的 日本鐵砲百合/復活節百合/ Easter Lily/ テッポウユリ. Lilium longiflorum Thunb. 1794 即由 Thunbergia 於 1794 年發表命名

2. Agapanthus: a revision of the genus 一書 2004以修訂本出版 作者 Wim Snoeijer 荷蘭園藝家 書中對於 Agapanthus 原生種( 6種) /栽培種( 近600品種!) 的分類 敘述得相當認真 為此不可能的任務 做出完美註解 他亦是 Clematis鐵線蓮 專家.

3. 當地人拿 Agapanthus 的根 裝飾新娘頸圈 據信這有利生產 並拿此植物療效幫助分娩 此風俗和法國植物學家 Charles Louis L'Héritier de Brutelle (15 Jun. 1746- 18 Aug. 1800) 取 Agapanthus 為屬名 意指 " Flower of Love " 有關. 中文俗名 百子蓮 亦有和此類似 "多產"的聯想

穿的卻是再人工不過的玩意..

以 Coco Chanel 的想法
她執意要出版一款 表現女性時代眼光的香味
這意味著
她將捨棄 家常/溫柔鄉 的 玫瑰 or 鈴蘭 花香
她找到異國情調的依蘭花

既然人類史上 大牌/元老的香水
重用了依蘭花 那何不順便來稱呼Ylang Ylang 為 Chanel No.5 Tree?

問題出在 用了依蘭花的調性 而不是用了依蘭花

這意味
Chanel No.5 是罐 人工合成香水
用人工的化學 仿造依蘭花調性 再複方添加其他輔助香調
Chanel No.5 的地位無比崇高
因為它是人類史上 第一罐人工合成香水
這是日後化妝品工業樂此不疲的先聲
