And the music started sighin’, an’ awailin’ through the hall
As a kind of introduction to “The Cowboys’ Christmas Ball.”

Their leader was a feller that came from Swenson’s ranch,
They called him “Windy Billy,” from “little Deadman’s Branch.”
His rig was “kinda careless,” big spurs and high-heeled boots;
He had the reputation that come when “a fellers shoots.”
His voice was like a bugle upon the mountain’s height;
His feet were animated an’ a mighty, movin’ sight,
When he commenced to hollerin’, “Now, fellers stake your pen!
"Lock horns with all them heifers, an’ russle ‘em like men.

Alio Die means 'to another day' in old latin language & was used like a greeting to a better time.Aglaia releases: 2003 1st, 2009 8th, 2011 " Nights In Nubiland " 10th.

Aglaia 和 Alio Die, 兩支同樣來自 義大利 米蘭 的樂團, 同樣著重發揮電子樂器合成的音效, 創造環境音樂冥想漫遊的場域。 Aglaia 為雙人搭檔, Alio Die 則是 Stefano Musso 個人組合, 他合作過不少環境音樂藝人, 如 Robert Rich, Vidna Obmana； 並在美國獨立音樂廠牌 Projekt 出現過, 較有知名度。 而 2009 年他們合作的專輯 Private History Of The Clouds「 雲 的 個 人 歷 史 」, 取名如同音樂一廂表達的漂浮 不確定與冥思。

Alio Die 根據 Stefano 的說法, 為古拉丁語, 意思是: 另一天, 他用這想表達出詞意裡積極的涵義。 Aglaia 這個字, 讓西方人熟悉的是指稱 希臘神話 美惠三女神 裡的 Aglaea； 而會讓他們不熟悉的是植物: Aglaia, 這說的是原生東南亞, 亞熱帶的香花灌木; 園藝上常見的 Aglaia odorata, 英文俗名 Chinese Rice Flower, 中文俗稱 樹蘭 或 米仔蘭。


美 惠三女神 The Three Graces 為西方繪畫裡, 讓人熟悉的主題。 2005年 法國 harmonia mundi 古典音樂廠牌, 發行 20張一套的 音樂歷史 Century music series, 第九輯 文藝復興歌曲集, 封面用上的是 拉斐爾 畫的 美惠三女神。 這輯收錄包括當時, Franco- Flemish 北法國地方, 當時複調音樂最具代表性的音樂家 Josquin Desprez ( c. 1450 to 1455– 27 Aug. 1521), 以及英國伊麗莎白時代, 著名的作曲家 Dowland 和 Byrd。 這些在音樂歷史的進程中, 是在義大利的 Monteverdi ( 15 maggio 1567, Cremona– 29 novembre 1643, Venezia) 啟發 巴洛克音樂革命景象 之前, 古樂風的代表。

而 美惠三女神 最為人孰悉的, 應該是出現在 波提且利 ( c. 1445– May 17, 1510) 畫作: 春 Primavera ( c. 1482): , 背景裡的三人圖案。

Aglaia Lour., from Aglaea (光 彩), 由 葡萄牙傳教士/ 醫生/ 考古學家/ 植物學家 João de Loureiro ( 8 Sep. 1717– 18 Oct. 1791, Lisbon) 於 1790年發表； 他在 30歲不到的年紀, 隨船遠征到達南越, 並待了超過三十年! 這使他專精於遠東植物學;
而 瑞士植物學家/ 隨船醫生 Frédéric-Louis Allamand ( 1736- 1803) 早於 1770年也發表 Aglaia F. Allam. , 這說的是 莎草科Cyperaceæ 的植物。 此屬名當今已作廢。

而 瑞士植物學者 Augustin Pyramus de Candolle ( 1778- 1841) 1836年 發表 Euphrosyne, 此 菊科 的植物, 此屬目前只剩唯一種 Euphrosyne parthenifolia DC. 1836.

Thalia (喝 采) 由 林內 於 1753年發表。 然 林內 延用 Charles Plumier ( 1646- 1704) 創設的這個字, 這個字也可指稱前輩 德國醫生/ 植物學家 Johannes Thal ( 1542–1583)。 Thalia 為主要原生熱帶美洲 水美蕉屬 的水生植物, 代表植物有造景上, 水邊常見的 Thalia dealbata, 英文俗名 Powdery Alligator Flag/ Water Canna 的 水竹竽/ 再力花/ 粉鱷魚旗; 和這屬的 模式種 Thalia geniculata L. 1753, 英文俗名 Alligator Flag 的 垂花水竹芋/ 水美蕉/ 鱷魚旗。 ( 鱷魚旗 之名為此高挺的植物, 生長的水域標誌著 鱷魚 的出沒 )

The Three Graces 統稱 Charites。 而植物屬名有 Charites 語義的是 Charieis, 為 Felicia 琉璃雛菊 的同物異名。 Charieis 1817 和 Felicia 1818 當初都由 法國伯爵/ 自然學家 Alexandre Henri Gabriel de Cassini ( May 9 1781– Apr. 16 1832) 發表。

字前加 eu, good 良善, 組成 Eucharis 說的是 石蒜科 Amaryllidaceae (APG III) 俗稱 亞馬遜百合 的植物。

在羅馬神話則稱 Charites 為 Gratiae。 植物屬名有 Gratiae 語義的是 Gratiola 水八角属, 這個屬名由 林內 創設, 並於 1753年發表。 字源為拉丁字 gratia, agreeableness, pleasantness, 延伸為此屬植物具備藥用的價值。
